Responsive performance for the long haul
The TF 250-C is powered by a championship-developed 250cc four-stroke engine tuned specifically for cross-country conditions. Smooth torque delivery, strong acceleration, and high-revving performance combine with proven durability for long-format racing.
High-performance 250 cc single
Delivering class-leading performance, the TF 250-C’s 250cc four-stroke single produces 47.3 HP at 13,250 rpm. Rapid throttle response and a broad, usable powerband make it perfect for maintaining speed through fast, open sections while tackling tight, technical climbs with confidence.
Forged performance components
The engine features a König forged piston, with 45-hour service life, Del West titanium valves, and Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) finger followers and coated rockers and cams, complemented by lightweight magnesium covers. These high-spec components are selected for their low mass, exceptional strength, and effective heat dissipation, ensuring consistent, reliable performance throughout long, demanding race stages.
Balancer, lubrication, and electric start system
A counter-weight balancer with a pressed-on gear reduces vibration and drives the water pump for efficient cooling. Lubrication is managed by a 4-into-5 gerotor pump with a shadow port, paired with a plastic injection-molded scavenge pump. A magnetic sump plug simplifies servicing, while the electric start system’s torque-limiting gear protects against kickback for reliable starts in all conditions.
Athena engine control
Developed in partnership with Athena, Triumph’s advanced electronic control strategies and co-developed software deliver outstanding drivability and precise tractability across varied off road racing terrain. The patented GET Power Assist system integrates traction and launch control as standard, optimizing performance from the start line through technical sections and high-speed trails, ensuring maximum control and confidence throughout the race.
Advanced fuel, air and ignition system
The advanced fuel, air, and ignition system pairs a bespoke Dellorto 44mm (1.73in) throttle body with a single Keihin injector for precise atomization and consistent fueling. An air bypass aids cold starts, with manual idle adjustment for fine tuning. The GET Power Assist system delivers crisp throttle response, optimal power, and seamless rider aid integration. A tool-free air filter system, supplied with vented and non-vented covers, simplifies maintenance, with upgrade options including a washable TwinAir filter and additional covers.
Precision cam system
The precision cam system features fully machined cams with optimized profiles for class-leading performance. A re-entrant profile delivers ideal valve lift, while a centrifugal breather improves efficiency. An adjustable cam sprocket, low-stretch D.I.D cam chain, hydraulic tensioner, and optimized cam blade geometry ensure lasting strength, precise timing, and consistent performance in all racing conditions.
Cylinder head
Triumph’s in-house manufacturing ensures exceptional accuracy and control through precision machining of the fireface, combustion chamber, ports, seats, and guides. Optimized port geometry and coolant flow, developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics software, maximize performance and efficiency.
Cylinder head bolts are positioned for quick removal without taking the engine from the frame, and a single throttle body injector delivers precise fuel delivery.
Crank cases
The high-pressure die-cast crank cases, produced in Triumph’s specialist casting facilities and fully machined in-house, form a vital part of the chassis geometry and stiffness. Their vertically split design enhances strength, precision, and durability.
Nikasil coated cylinder
The separate cylinder block features a 78mm bore and 52.3mm stroke, optimized for a balanced blend of piston speed and BMEP. A Nikasil coating provides exceptional wear resistance, while the cast-in water jacket ensures effective cooling. Precision geometry maintains bore roundness when assembled, and coolant flow is optimized using computational fluid dynamics software for consistent temperature control.
Exedy clutch
Exedy clutch uses a Belleville spring design, paired with a Brembo hydraulic lift for consistent feel, precise control, and protection against dirt ingress. A hard-anodized clutch basket and high-pressure die-cast friction discs enhance durability, while torsional rubber dampers reduce vibration. An oil feed through the input shaft ensures reliable lubrication during demanding conditions.
Gearbox with quickshifter
The 5-speed gearbox is built from Triumph-specified high-grade alloy steel with specially treated gear teeth for maximum toughness and durability, drawing on 35 years of gearbox design expertise. Ratios are optimized for performance, complemented by a standard-fit quickshifter for clutchless upshifts between 2nd and 5th gear. An integrated gear position sensor, moly-coated forks, and spring-loaded selector shafts deliver precise, smooth gear changes in all conditions.
Magnesium engine covers and cooling system
Lightweight magnesium clutch, alternator, and cam covers help reduce overall mass, while the cam cover’s angled joint face ensures easy serviceability. The high-efficiency liquid cooling system maintains optimal operating temperatures, with an auto-off strategy to prevent overheating when stationary and an optional accessory fan for additional cooling performance. Riders can also personalize their machine with an accessory radiator shroud graphics kit.

Its constantly tapering design optimizes gas flow for maximum performance, while retaining the proven resonator principles of the OE system for balanced sound and efficiency. For ultimate gains, the dedicated Akrapovic engine map via MX Tune Pro unlocks additional performance potential.

Fitted with D.I.D DirtStar 7000-series aluminum rims with a tough black anodized finish and Triumph-designed lightweight hubs, this wheel setup combines durability with low mass. Precision braking performance
Equipped with Brembo twin 24mm (0.94in) piston floating front and single 26mm (1.02in) piston floating rear calipers, plus an adjustable span brake lever, this system delivers outstanding control and stopping power. Galfer’s lightweight 260mm (10.23in) front and 220mm (8.66in) rear discs ensure maximum efficiency without sacrificing performance. For extra protection in tough conditions, an optional brake disc guard helps shield discs from debris and damage.
Chain and sprockets
The TF 250-C runs a JT Racing chain with split link, paired with lightweight JT sprockets developed to improve mass efficiency. Fitted with a 13-tooth front and 48-tooth rear sprocket setup, this configuration maximizes drive and acceleration for the demands of technical cross country terrain.
Fabricated swingarm and optimized linkage
Engineered for minimal mass and maximum strength, the fabricated swingarm features hydroformed main beams for consistent rigidity and tuned flex. The forged and CNC-machined linkage, developed in collaboration with professional race teams, delivers precise geometry for the responsiveness and control essential in demanding Cross Country competition, from tight technical sections to high-speed open terrain.
KYB coil suspension and Neken yokes
Renowned for exceptional out-of-the-box performance, the KYB coil suspension is easy to set up, fine-tune, and service. It features 48mm (1.88in) upside-down AOS coil forks with compression and rebound adjustment, plus a KYB 3-way piggyback rear coil shock with a 50mm (1.96in) piston and a unique lightweight hollow shock mount for reduced mass. Complementing this is a set of Neken 7075-T6 forged and fully machined lightweight aluminum yokes, precisely tuned for optimal stiffness and front-end feel.
Seat
Ergonomically shaped and fitted with high-quality foam padding, the seat provides lasting comfort for extended rides. The Pyramid seat cover offers excellent grip with a tactile, rubber-like surface, keeping you securely positioned during demanding sections. Highly durable and resistant to wear, it is built to withstand the rigors of off-road riding.
Fuel tank
2.1-US gallon (Enduro) clear fuel tank, designed for endurance and convenience. The see-through construction allows quick and accurate fuel level checks, with optimized shaping for rider movement and control.
ProTaper bars and ODI grips
Fitted with premium ProTaper Evo MX Alloy handlebars for strength and control, complete with a Triumph/ProTaper bar pad for comfort and style, and ODI half-waffle lock-on grips for a secure hold and enhanced feel in all riding conditions.

Controls and display
Ergonomically designed for quick and intuitive operation, the right-hand side houses the electronic start, kill switch, and MIL light, while the left-hand side features on/off controls for Launch Control, Quick Shift, and Traction Control, along with dual engine map selection (Map 1/Map 2) and illuminated switches for enhanced visibility. The compact speedo screen is neatly integrated behind the number board for a clean, race-ready look.
Dual engine maps
The standard-fit engine management system offers two selectable maps, each with unique fueling and ignition profiles.
Map 1 delivers full power for maximum performance.
Map 2 provides smoother, less aggressive power for improved control in low-grip conditions, with a blue indicator light to show when active.
With the optional Wi-Fi module, Map 2 can be replaced with a custom, cross country specific map via the app.
Athena LC-GPA module
Developed in partnership with Athena, this system combines Triumph’s off-road expertise with advanced electronic control strategies to deliver outstanding drivability and precise tractability. Co-developed software works seamlessly with the patented GET Power Assist system, which integrates traction control and launch control as standard - maximizing performance from the gate drop to the finish line.
When paired with the Wi-Fi module, the LC-GPA system also supports custom Map 2 uploads.
App-controlled engine management
Fitting the optional Wi-Fi module unlocks three unique cross country factory maps, each with unique fueling and ignition setups. These maps are designed to suit a variety of track conditions and rider abilities, delivering a wide range of performance characteristics while maintaining durability.
The app also enables real-time engine sensor dashboard data, fault code diagnosis, and service timing functions, making it easy to track maintenance intervals.
Launch control
The standard-fit launch control system delivers maximum traction and minimizes wheel slip straight out of the gate. Activation is simple - just press and hold.
With the Wi-Fi module fitted, launch control levels can be fine-tuned from 0–20 (default setting: 10) for tailored performance. Adding the LC-GPA module provides optimal engine speed indication via a 10-LED display, and combining both modules offers the ultimate in launch control customization and precision.
Traction control
The standard-fit traction control system uses Get Power Assist patented technology to monitor and respond to wheel slip in real time, optimizing grip and stability. Riders can activate or deactivate the system with a single press.
With the optional Wi-Fi module fitted, traction control level can be adjusted from 1–10 via the dedicated app.
With the LC-GPA module fitted, the level can be adjusted from 1–10 directly via a handlebar button.
When both Wi-Fi and LC-GPA modules are fitted, adjustments can be made via either the app or the button.
Quick shift
The standard-fit quick shift system allows clutchless upshifting between 2nd and 5th gears, delivering faster, smoother gear changes for uninterrupted acceleration. Activation is simple, with a single press to engage.
